Isle of Man named the safest place in the British Isles
The Isle of Man's Chief Constable's Annual Report revealed that the Isle of Man remains the safest place to live in the British Isles.
Even when judged against the safest counties in England and Wales, Isle of Man had the lowest number of recorded crimes, over all one third number of UK levels.
Public satisfaction also shows high confidence in the Isle of Man Constabulary. Whilst crime accounts make up about 20% of overall demand for the police on the Island, the officers are also attending an increasingly complex range of vulnerability and public protection matters.
Chief Constable Gary Roberts said:
'The Isle of Man is the safest of the large British Isles. The Constabulary has successfully protected vulnerable people, increased its drug seizures, prosecuted dangerous sex offenders and continues to be ambitious in terms of its development.'
'The Constabulary is blessed with great people who genuinely care about what they do and the community they serve. I am proud to be the Chief Constable of such a forward-thinking and caring organisation.'
