The Isle of Man has 11 GP Practices and currently has opportunities for qualified GPs to live and work in the Island.
In Primary Care there are partnership opportunities for GPs on the Island, with full or part-time always being considered. The Isle of Man has a locally funded National Health Service and whilst the Island’s GP Contract is similar to the England GP Contract, local negotiations ensure that the contract better suits local.
Although we strive to achieve great quality patient care we do not seek to achieve this by QOF on the Isle of Man. Local negotiations have ensured the implementation of a Primary Care Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service in 2019. This forms part of the long term larger package of Contract reform for general medical practice from 2020 to 2024, enabling greater provision of proactive, personalised and a more integrated health and social care organisation.

The Isle of Man operates a work permit system that ensures on Island skills are utilised, however, registered medical practitioners do not require a work permit (please note, if you are from outside the EEA, you will need to understand the immigration process).
Partners (Civil, Spouse or co-habiting) of an Isle of Man worker are eligible for an automatic 1-year work permit even if they have not yet secured employment. The cost for this permit is £60 and is annually renewable.
