Our client seeks an experienced Data Test Analyst with strong SQL and data validation skills to join their growing data team for a 12-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to work across data warehousing, reporting and analytics solutions, ensuring high-quality data is delivered to support business operations and strategic decision-making. You'll collaborate with both technical and business teams to identify issues, drive resolutions and continuously improve data testing practices. Key Responsibilities: Design and execute test plans focused on data quality, data migration, and system integrations. Validate data transformations between source and target systems. Develop and run SQL-based queries to reconcile and analyse data outputs. Identify, log and track data defects through to resolution, working with technology and business teams. Support testing for data warehouse, reporting platforms and analytics solutions. Contribute to test automation where appropriate, improving efficiency and repeatability. Ensure data testing is embedded in project delivery and change initiatives. Provide clear reporting on test progress, issues and risks to stakeholders. Support the definition and maintenance of data quality standards and controls. Work with business users to validate that outputs meet requirements and are fit for use. Key Skills and Experience: Strong experience in data testing, data validation or QA within a data/analytics environment. Proficient in SQL and data interrogation techniques. Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes and data pipelines. Experience working with structured and unstructured data sources. Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness. Ability to interpret business requirements and translate into test scenarios. Experience working in change or project environments, ideally within financial services. Awareness of data governance, data quality frameworks and controls. Relevant testing certification (e.g. ISTQB) - desirable.
