Front of House Team Member
South of the Island
Are you a friendly, energetic people-person who loves great coffee, good food and even better company? Our cafe in the south of the island is on the lookout for a warm, reliable Front of House team member to join our small, close-knit crew. If you take pride in looking after guests and keeping a busy cafe running smoothly, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
Position: Front of House (FOH)
Hours: 30-40 hours per week (across weekdays and weekends)
Pay: Minimum wage
Location: South of the island
Own transport: Essential
What You'll Be Doing
As part of our Front of House team, your day-to-day will include:
Opening and closing of the cafe
Greet, assist and seat guests
Take customer orders efficiently and accurately and communicate orders to Back of House (BOH)
Provide a good level of customer service (including preparation of beverages and food)
Maintaining order within the cafe and adhere to required standards
Setting of tables and assisting BOH with delivery of meals
Co-ordination between FOH and BOH to maintain timely service
Clearing of tables during service and cleaning of tables and surrounds post service
Ensuring the outside deck, cafe, bar area and bathrooms are kept clean and maintained at appropriate hygiene standards and a professional image is always portrayed
Ordering of beverage and snack stock from suppliers
Inventory management – replenishment of beverages, snacks and condiments, including stock rotation
Filing of delivery notes and invoices
Monthly stocktaking of all FOH items
Accurate recording of transactions and end of day cash-up and safe keeping of monies
Replying to emails and telephonic bookings if required
Receiving and accumulating general customer feedback
Preparation of staff rosters and work scheduling
Always maintain a professional appearance
Performing any reasonable ad-hoc tasks requested by the Manager / Owners
About You
Previous hospitality or cafe experience preferred
Own reliable transport is essential
Warm, friendly and customer-focused
Reliable, punctual and well-presented
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
Good communication skills and a positive attitude
Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends
