Mechanical & Electrical Project Engineer

Prospero Group are seeking a skilled and versatile Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Project Engineer to join our expanding facilities services team in the Isle of Man. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the full design, quoting and project delivery life cycle for both mechanical and electrical building services systems. This role is critical in ensuring efficient, compliant and high quality delivery of commercial and residential M&E installations from design through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities:
Design and specify both mechanical (HVAC, plumbing) and electrical (lighting, power, containment) systems, prepare accurate costings, quotations, and tender packages for M&E works, manage the full M&E project lifecycle including procurement, scheduling, and subcontractor oversight.
Conduct site surveys and develop detailed scope of work, liaising with suppliers, clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure successful delivery and ensuring all designs comply with relevant UK regulations and Isle of Man standards. Coordinate and manage installation teams and oversee commissioning, preparing all associated documentation, including O&M manuals and handover packs.

Requirements:
We are looking for someone with a degree or HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum of 5 years' experience in M&E project design and management, proficient in mechanical and electrical system specification and design. A good working knowledge of UK building regulations and British Standards and skilled in AutoCad or Revit and relevant calculation tools (e.g. Hevacomp, Dialux etc.) Must have strong project management and communication skills along with ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and deliver to tight deadlines. Full UK driving licence.
Experience with renewable systems (e.g. air source heat pumps, solar PV an chartered status or working towards it (CIBSW, IET, IMeche) would be desirable.
