We are looking for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor for this start-up business with a background in supervision, capable of overseeing cleaning operations, facilities maintenance, and procurement activities. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead teams, ensure high cleanliness and safety standards, and efficiently manage the purchasing of materials necessary for facility upkeep. Responsible for bringing in new business. Previous cleaning supervisor experience required. Implement and enforce workplace safety standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations. Conduct risk assessments for facility operations, identifying potential hazards. Ensure fire exits, safety equipment, and emergency response plans are maintained effectively.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Oversee and carry out daily cleaning activities, ensuring that toilets, residential areas, industrial spaces, and administrative offices maintain hygiene standards.
Conduct inspections and implement improvement plans for facilities upkeep.
Manage waste disposal, ensuring proper environmental handling of recyclables and hazardous materials.
Supervision and Team Leadership:
Lead and manage cleaning staff, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to hygiene protocols.
Provide training and guidance on proper cleaning techniques, safety regulations, and inventory management.
Develop cleaning schedules and duty rotations to optimize efficiency across multiple facility areas.
Conduct performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback and ensuring high team morale.
Facility Oversight and Coordination:
Ensure all facilities remain operational, reporting structural or technical faults promptly.
Manage relationships with external contractors, overseeing scheduled maintenance and repair services.
Assist in space planning, including office setups, furniture placement, and general facility optimisation.
Purchasing and Inventory Management:
Source and procure cleaning supplies, tools, and necessary maintenance materials.
Maintain an inventory tracking system, ensuring stock levels remain adequate.
Work within a budget, negotiating cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
Handle purchase orders and supplier contracts, ensuring the timely delivery of essential materials.
Requirements:
Previous supervisory or management experience in cleaning operations or maintenance is required.
Strong knowledge of cleaning protocols and procurement processes.
Proven leadership skills, capable of training and directing facility staff.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Experience in budget management, purchasing, and vendor negotiations.
Ability to multitask, prioritise duties, and work efficiently under pressure.
Driving licence required.
