We are looking for an enthusiastic home cook to manage a kitchen for a small Adult Mental Health & Complex needs residential home, based in Douglas. Full time contracted day time hours. 25 days annual leave plus any bank holidays worked.
Person Specification:
Experience:
Previous experience of working in a care setting beneficial but not essential.
Qualifications/Training:
Good basic education.
In possession of City and Guilds Catering Qualification or equivalent.
Food Hygiene Level 3.
Practical Skills:
An effective communicator both orally and written.
Possess practical chef skills including managing orders, food hygiene & health and safety standards, menu planning for varied healthy nutritious meals.
Have good understanding of budgets and planning ahead.
Possess an ability to relate to people of differing presentation.
Able to form positive relationships with residents and colleagues.
The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
Personal Qualities and Attributes:
Attention to detail and conscientious.
Approachable, friendly personality, well-mannered and confident.
Presentable in appearance.
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and cope with pressure.
Flexible in thinking and open to change.
Dedicated, committed and able to maintain high standards.
