Job Title: Sous / 2nd Chef.
Location: The Laxey Glen Cafe & Events Venue.
An exceptional opportunity to join our dynamic kitchen team as a Sous / 2nd Chef, working directly alongside MasterChef quarter-finalist, Pippa Lovell. We are seeking a passionate and skilled professional to play a key role in our culinary operations.
This is a perfect fit for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record in both à la carte service and large-scale banqueting. This role is crucial for our busy weddings and events, which can cater for up to 120 people or more.
Key Responsibilities:
Deputise for the Head Chef, taking responsibility for all kitchen operations.
Assist in menu planning and creation, ensuring all dishes meet our high standards.
Manage and execute catering for weddings and events.
Supervise, train, and mentor junior chefs.
Oversee daily kitchen tasks, including inventory and stock management.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Collaborate with the front-of-house and events teams for seamless service.
The Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef, 2nd Chef, or in a similar senior role.
Demonstrable experience in banqueting, catering for large-scale events and weddings.
Exceptional culinary skills and a strong understanding of modern techniques.
A natural leader with the ability to manage and motivate a team under pressure.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
A creative and passionate approach to food.
