Networks Support Assistant

Carrying out H&S risk Assessments and working safely on all jobs (both in and outside normal working hours) and completion of site safety assessments.

Deal with customer enquiries within the Job Management/Customer services management system. To include:
Locating stop taps.
General complaints (Poor pressure, discoloration, broken boxes, taste and odour).
Creating jobs on GIS.

Participate in the out of hours/emergency rota. Supervising works teams out of hours as required.

Taking samples according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) from treatment works, service reservoirs, fixed and random points within the distribution network.

Taking water samples from customer premises either, random sampling program or in response to customer complaints.

Perform water quality flushing of hydrants and flushing points.

Supply relevant advices to customer, providing bottled water to customers if required.

Disinfection using calcium hypochlorite tablets and sodium hypochlorite solution.

Disinfection and sampling new mains prior to commissioning.

Carry out Service Reservoir Inspections (External) and record on iforms system.

Sampling service reservoirs post cleaning.

Disinfection and sampling service reservoirs upon bacteriological failure.

Carrying out flushing programs.

Participate in an out of hours on call rotor for network operational tasks.

Provide support to Networks Supervisor/ANCs with repair of bursts, delivering bottled water/ bowsers.
