Manx Independent Carriers are seeking 2 reliable and skilled Class 2 Drivers to manage the safe and timely transportation of goods, while also performing essential duties within the warehouse.
The ideal candidates must be able to work independently, possess strong problem-solving skills, and adhere strictly to all safety and driving regulations.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Operate a Class 2 rigid vehicle safely and efficiently for local deliveries and collections.
Transport goods between warehouses, distribution centers, and customer locations.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects, and ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy at all times.
Oversee and assist with the safe loading and unloading of goods, which may involve using equipment like tail-lifts.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including paperwork.
Act as a professional representative of the company when interacting with customers.
Assist with receiving and inspecting incoming goods and deliveries.
Organize and manage stock within the warehouse, placing items in their correct locations.
Perform picking and packing tasks to prepare customer orders for dispatch.
Operate a forklift (if qualified) to move heavy goods safely and efficiently around the warehouse.
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment by assisting with general warehouse housekeeping.
Load and unload vehicles by hand or with equipment.
Work collaboratively with other warehouse team members to ensure targets are met.
Requirements and qualifications:
Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving license.
Clean driving record.
Previous experience as a Class 2 driver and in a warehouse environment is essential.
A forklift license (Counterbalance or Reach) is often advantageous, but not be essential.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks, such as lifting heavy items.
Excellent time management.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
A high degree of reliability and a disciplined approach to work.
A strong commitment to health and safety standards.
