Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Officer. The successful candidate will support Principal Lawyers in managing a varied caseload of complex contract law matters, contributing to the delivery of high-quality legal advice and representation.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Company with case preparation, legal research, and the drafting of legal documents and reports.
Instruct external Counsel and prepare case summaries, briefs, and evidence bundles for proceedings in various courts and tribunals.
Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and case progression.
Support the department in maintaining compliance with Lexcel accreditation and internal quality assurance standards.
Conduct legal research into areas such as governance, international law, and statutory interpretation.
Contribute to the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to improve legal service delivery.
Essential Criteria:
LLB (Hons) in Law (2:1 or above) from a top five UK university.
Strong understanding of public law, governance, and the legal system of England and Wales.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate and concise legal documents.
Effective liaison and teamwork skills across multi-disciplinary professional environments.
Strong organisational and time management abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred / Desirable Criteria:
Applicants demonstrating the following will be considered preferred candidates:
LLM in International Law or equivalent postgraduate qualification, particularly with modules in International Criminal Law, the Law of the United Nations, or the Laws of Armed Conflict.
Proven contribution to achieving or maintaining Lexcel accreditation or compliance.
Experience in casework, governance, or legal research.
Interest in international law.
Proficiency in another language (Spanish or French preferred).
Evidence of leadership, mentoring, or teamwork roles (e.g., vice-captaincy, society leadership, or coordination roles).
Experience in community or voluntary projects demonstrating communication and organisational skills.
