We are looking to appoint a new member of staff, initially to cover a 9-month maternity break at Knockaloe Beg Farm. Some experience would be helpful.
We run a mixed farm with 350 sheep, 10+ pigs, free ranging chickens, a donkey and 2 ponies. Alongside this we have diversified into tourism, therefore, we are looking to appoint someone who is happy to have a DBS check and work with members of the public.
The appointed person should be used to working outdoors, ideally with experience of livestock management, especially sheep. They need to be capable of working both independently as well as part of a team.
Alongside this, they should have a full driving licence.
Work entails primarily farm work, however, there will also be a responsibility to maintain a level of excellence throughout the business for our guests (cutting the grass, keeping the grounds tidy etc).
We would like someone who is sympathetic to working in a Christian community.
Hours would be 16-20 per week, ideally mornings, Monday to Friday, 9am-1pm. On top of this there will be occasional holiday cover at weekends. The position starts from January 2026.
Pay depends on experience and there are potential extra hours during lambing time.
