Health Care Assistant

The Health Care Assistant will work as part of a care team to provide high-quality care to Service Users, promoting and safeguarding their welfare at all times. They will support Service Users in carrying out personal care tasks to enhance and maintain their independence, in line with individual Care Plans, while reviewing progress and reporting any signs of deterioration in physical or mental health. Responsibilities include following policies and procedures to uphold the highest standards of Infection Prevention and Control, measuring the effectiveness of Care Plans with the interdisciplinary team, and providing care improvement recommendations as needed. Tasks will be carried out with respect for the dignity and privacy of Service Users, and may involve liaising with other agencies when required. Health Care Assistants are expected to respect the rights and choices of Service Users, encourage positive social interaction, participate in audits, and attend supervision and appraisal meetings, all while complying with company policies and legal requirements and fostering care practices that reflect the values of the Home. Specific duties, as identified in the Care Plans, may include assisting Service Users with mobility in accordance with best Moving and Handling practices, supporting dietary needs, undertaking medication-related roles as trained and authorized, encouraging independence in personal care, and performing relevant domestic tasks at management discretion.
