Kitchen Porter

As our Kitchen Porter, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly - supporting the catering team, maintaining a clean and safe environment and ensuring our residents receive meals in a hygienic and well-organised setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans promptly and efficiently.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored correctly.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the Chef.
Dispose of waste safely and ensure bins are emptied regularly.
Receive and store deliveries in line with food safety guidelines.
Follow health and safety, food hygiene and infection control procedures at all times.
Support the catering team during busy periods to ensure smooth service.
Uphold cleanliness, professionalism and the values of Sunnydale Care Home at all times.

About You:

Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable but not essential.
Understanding of basic food hygiene and safety standards (training can be provided).
Hardworking, reliable and able to work efficiently as part of a team.
Able to follow instructions and maintain high cleanliness standards.
Positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting older people.
