Essential
Full clean valid HGV driving licence
Supervisory experience
Ability to complete log sheets and other written records
Appreciation of safe manual handling techniques with the ability to carry out manual handling operations
Good communication skills and ability to deal courteously and fairly with the public
Ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team
An awareness of Health & Safety Regulations
Desirable
Experience and knowledge of safe working practices with regard to refuse collection or similar duties
Awareness of the need to recycle materials
Experience of local government
An understanding of the operations and functions of a local authority
Public Sector experience
