Our client seeks an Insurance Manager to join their team on a 12 month contract. Role Profile: Reporting into the Client Service Director, the position has responsibility for underwriting and claims associated with certain lines of business, together with extensive interaction with a variety of customers. The role may also involve some travel to the UK and potentially further a field. Key Responsibilities: Take ownership of certain lines of business and manage the renewals process. Prepare (re)insurance documentation and handle renewal negotiations. Report to the Board, insurance committee and other partners as required. Field technical questions on policy coverageCalculate insurance premiums. Manage large and/or complex claims for certain lines of business. Work directly with external consultants and advisers to settle such claims. Handle claims data for financial reporting, actuarial and renewal purposes. Handle timely communications with the Insured, brokers and a variety of other third party service providers. Attendance at Board, Committee and other meetings as required by the Insured. Take the lead role on insurance discussions with the Insured. Manage board meeting packs for clients which you are involved in. Produce minutes of board and committee meetings. Key Skills and experience: Hold a relevant professional insurance qualification (preferable at least DIP CII). Have insurance experience with a captive manager, insurance company or broker and have a track record of delivering service excellence. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with both colleagues and third parties. Be self-motivated and possess leadership skills. Possess good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade effectively (strong presentation skills are important). Possess excellent time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines. Have a natural thirst for development of yourself and others. Be naturally inquisitive.
