AML and High-Risk Technical Specialist

This is an opportunity to be a key player in applying our risk appetites and frameworks, ensuring that client risk, whether standard or higher-risk, is consistently identified, assessed, and effectively managed. In this exciting role, you will navigate the complexities of higher-risk applications, providing enhanced scrutiny and governance through the Group’s High-Risk Committee (HRC). With delegated authority to approve certain applications directly, you will prepare comprehensive submission packs and present them to the HRC when escalation is required. Collaborating closely with New Business, Technical Support, Business Development, and Payments teams, you will engage with clients and work hand-in-hand with the MLRO and Risk & Compliance teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and periodic reviews that meet all regulatory and internal policy requirements. As a subject matter expert in AML, you will develop, implement, and maintain AML procedures and controls, driving best practices for risk identification, assessment, and ongoing monitoring. You will hold overall responsibility for the Business Risk Assessment (BRA) and Technology Risk Assessment (TRA), providing periodic reviews and reports to the Executive Committee and the Board. To thrive in this role, you’ll need a minimum of five years’ experience in regulated financial services, with a strong understanding of Isle of Man AML/CFT legislation, particularly in the context of higher-risk clients. Your ability to analyse complex corporate structures, validate Source of Funds and Source of Wealth, and navigate governance, risk, and control frameworks will set you apart.
