Job Description: Panel Inspector.
Job Purpose:
To inspect knitted panels during and after production to ensure they meet the required quality standards and customer specifications before progressing to the linking and garment assembly stages.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect knitted panels for faults, defects, and inconsistencies.
Check panel measurements against approved specifications and size charts.
Identify knitting defects such as holes, dropped stitches, yarn contamination, oil stains, uneven tension, and colour variations.
Ensure panels are correctly matched for shade, size, and style.
Separate and record defective panels and report issues to the Knitting Supervisor or Quality Manager.
Maintain accurate inspection records and production documentation.
Work closely with knitting, linking, and finishing departments to resolve quality issues.
Ensure all products comply with company quality standards and customer requirements.
Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work area.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve production efficiency.
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in knitwear manufacturing or textile inspection is preferred.
Good understanding of knitted garment construction and quality standards.
Ability to identify knitting and yarn defects.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic record-keeping and communication skills.
