Job Purpose:
The Senior Security Operations Engineer is responsible for setting the strategic direction of plan.com’s defensive security capability while remaining deeply hands-on across the organisation’s security tooling and day-to-day operations. Building on the foundations established by the Security Operations (Blue Team) function, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of security operations at plan.com, defining the vision, architecture, and roadmap that will mature our cyber security posture from endpoint to network edge. This role combines threat detection, monitoring, and incident investigation with the leadership required to build processes, select and integrate tooling, and embed a security-first culture throughout the organisation. The successful candidate will act as the senior technical authority for cyber security, mentoring colleagues, advising executive leadership on cyber risk, and collaborating with internal and external teams across a broad range of ecosystems to ensure organisation-wide adherence to security best practices and conformity to regulatory obligations pertaining to cybersecurity.
