Our client seeks an Intellectual Property Manager to join their team Role Profile: This role is to capture and protect innovation within the Intellectual Property team to defend the companys commercial interests worldwide. Key Responsibilities: On instruction of third-party legal partners, proceed with the filing, prosecution and grant of intellectual property and any associated licences Work with third party legal partners in all global litigation, agreements and settlements regarding the defence of intellectual property and for the creation and/or review of commercial contracts. Responsible via instruction of third-party legal partners for monitoring and opposition where required of all relevant third-party intellectual property to defend commercial interests worldwide. Responsible for the collation and tracking of the IPR budget, forecast and financial performance of relevant cost centres as well as the raising of purchase requisitions to cover all invoices received. Drives key performance indicators to ensure departmental efficiently delivers against its goals. Prepare and maintain annual departmental expenditure to achieve budget. Drive the department to ensure objectives are delivered on time and to appropriate standards. Conduct regular reviews with third party legal partners to ensure objectives are clear and actions appropriate. Track the status of all IPR projects using project management tools and deliver updates to the stakeholders. In conjunction with Board, and senior management strategic IP portfolio and tactical litigation reviews. Third party patent opposition tactics, patent claim development, IP filing, commercial contract negotiations, regulatory approval tactics and statutory body approaches. Makes clear decisions, even in areas of ambiguity and unchartered territory and considers consequences and risks. Key Skills & Experience: Relevant Science or Engineering degree, preferably Masters. Fellow or Chartered Member of an industry related Professional Body preferred. Experience and qualification in patent law desirable. Experience of leading a company function. Working knowledge of contract and patent law. Experience of successfully operating and influencing at strategic and tactical level.
