- Forestry Timber Holdings Ltd
A family-owned business, we are passionate about our products and deliver a high-quality customer service to our international client base.
We provide our clients with high-end quality timber flooring that uses cutting edge-technology and hand craftsmanship to create stunning long lasting products. We have implemented a sustainable approach to the sourcing, manufacturing and distribution of our products, offering a completely safe, green product that has a lesser impact on the environment than traditional timber flooring.
Due to our expanding operations, we are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee a broad range of operational, sales, purchasing, and administrative functions. This role requires strong leadership, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to manage both day to day operations and long term objectives.
The General Manager will oversee the full customer order lifecycle, from initial enquiries through to quotes, purchase orders, sales invoices and shipping documents. You will ensure that all client communications are handled professionally and that responses are accurate and timely. This includes monitoring client and internal emails, resolving issues promptly, and preparing quotes and invoices once production details are confirmed. You will maintain accurate client profiles and product information, stay informed about sample and display products to support marketing activities, and coordinate the creation of specialised client documentation such as labelling, packaging instructions, installation guides, and compliance requirements.
In addition, you will manage all purchasing activities by reviewing and verifying order information, production schedules, and shipping arrangements. You will maintain daily production logs, prepare and process customer orders, and work closely with the factory to establish manufacturing lead times and container loading schedules. You will also issue purchase orders and monitor their progress to ensure deadlines are met, while maintaining clear communication with colleagues to support the accurate and timely fulfilment of client requests.
The role also includes responsibility for staff recruitment and training, supervising team members, and managing general office operations. Attendance at training sessions and trade shows, including overseas events, may be required.
Candidates must demonstrate English language proficiency, hold the legal right to work, and have advanced Excel skills. A minimum of ten years of experience in shipping and stock management is essential.
The successful candidate must have excellent organisational and time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
