Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team on a 9-month contract. The Role: Our client is seeking maternity cover for a period of 9 months from 1 October 2022 to 30 June 2023, which includes a 2-month handover period. The Senior Accountant will be a dedicated resource to manage the accounting workload and deliverables of a complex and dynamic family structure. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in both the Legal and Fiduciary Service Groups across several jurisdictions. He/she will use their strong problem-solving and communication skills to make certain that financial statements, external audits and ad-hoc financial analysis requests are completed within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure that an effective and efficient service is delivered to our client. On a day-to-day basis he/she will perform accounting record-keeping and provide guidance with regards to the decision-making functions for the trusts, limited partnerships and companies forming the structure, including work on the various types of investments held. Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day accounting, reporting, tax compliance and other services to the Client Service Team for the FO. Prepare interim reports, management accounts and other financial statements in accordance with applicable standards. Liaise directly with the client family, SFO team and various intermediaries as necessary, including existing investment advisers, auditors, bankers, trustees, and tax consultants. Undertake a cash management and treasury function and prepare cash forecasts as required. Continue to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting processes by identifying and implementing areas for development. Record all time spent to facilitate invoicing and internal reporting and monitor compliance with agreed SLAs. Provide assistance to the Client Service Team as and when required with queries pertaining to the family structure. Design and prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as required by the Client Service Team for the SFO. Responsibility for Tax Liaison. Responsibility for representing the family structure to tax consultants, who are responsible for the preparation and filing of all tax returns, currently limited to United States and Israel. Responsibility for reviewing returns at a high level prior to signature by directors and equivalent. Regular monitoring of filing and payment deadlines and managing the settlement of all tax-related liabilities Key Skills and Experience: Responsibility for managing risk within the accounting function, by reviewing processes and ensuring that adequate controls are in place to mitigate risk. Monitoring the control environment & culture to ensure that controls are effective and efficient. Have a recognised professional accounting qualification with a minimum of seven years accounting and/or auditing experience. Experience of working in a CSP environment or family office is essential for this role. Experience in preparing annual financial statements, preferably with IFRS knowledge. Have an ability to build relationships with external auditors and other intermediaries and manage the external audits of various entities to completion.
