At Holmes and Davidson Opticians, we believe in creating a warm, welcoming, and personal experience for every client who walks through our doors. We're now looking for a friendly, confident, and engaging Receptionist to be the first smiling face our patients see and the reassuring voice they hear on the phone.
About the Role
This is more than just a front-desk job. As our receptionist, you'll be at the heart of the client experience — making sure everyone feels looked after from the moment they arrive. You'll greet people warmly, check their details, offer them refreshments, and make them feel completely at ease.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet every patient with a genuine smile and a warm, friendly manner
Check and update client details accurately
Offer and prepare drinks for clients to enhance their experience
Answer incoming calls professionally and follow our script for booking appointments
Make reminder calls to clients about their next sight test
Engage in thoughtful conversations to help new clients decide if we're the right practice for their needs
Support the team with appointment scheduling and general admin
What We're Looking For:
A naturally warm and approachable personality
Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone
The ability to make people feel welcome and value
Confident using scripts while also being personable and adaptive in conversation
Organised, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
Previous experience in a client-facing or customer service role is an advantage, but not essential
