Casual Workers

The Mails Team at Douglas Sorting Office are seeking to recruit casual workers with flexible hours and working patterns to suit between 6am to 10pm Monday to Sunday. Opportunities include both under the roof roles (non-driving) and delivery work (driving). A full clean driving licence (not on R plates) is a requirement for delivery roles.

Full training will be offered to the successful candidates. The rate of pay for all casual workers is £13.92 (including rolled up holiday pay).

Duties include: Opening of mail bags and manual mail sortation, Loading and unloading parcels to the parcel automation machine,
Lifting mail items of up to 30kgs each, Use of handheld device to accurately scan mail, Other general indoor postal work as required,
Driving a Post Office vehicle (delivery roles only).

We are looking for people who have: Good communication & customer service skills, The ability to work as part of a team
Flexibility, self-motivation and initiative, Attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately, Full clean driving licence (not on R plates) for delivery roles only.
