Assistant Accountant

You will support the Accountant in the accurate and timely reporting of Corporate financial information and will take ownership for the Account Payable function. This varied role offers exposure to all areas of the accounting team and is ideal for someone with a positive attitude and a commitment to completing tasks accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting the Accountant with the preparation of monthly management accounts for the Company.
Taking responsibility for the Accounts Payable function (such as processing invoices, expenses and payments) and performing bank reconciliations for corporate and client bank accounts.
Supporting the Accountant with the preparation of quarterly and annual regulatory returns to the FSA.
Assisting with the preparation of Company financial information for interim and final audit.
Liaising with banks on the rates and products they offer, and communicating this to the Board to assist their decision making when reviewing corporate assets.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will be at least a part-qualified accountant with 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience. To succeed in this role, you will need excellent attention to detail and an ability to prioritise your workload. Being part of a small but busy team, you must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business. You will be enthusiastic about the benefits that improved system functionality can bring and will be proactive in spotting areas for improvement.
