Mechanical Engineer

To pre-plan works to create a safe and welcoming working environment.
To implement reporting procedures such as a job ticket system.
To ensure the site machinery is secure and well maintained.
To use your analytical and problem-solving skills to run tests on structural systems to determine the root cause of the malfunction, devise a plan of action, and troubleshoot these malfunctions by replacing the necessary components.
To coordinate with appropriate suppliers and some management of contractor contracts.
To support the technical manager and other team members in delivering against accreditation requirements.
To demonstrate the organisation’s workplace culture.
Working within high-risk environments with responsibility for health and safety.
Support with clearing and creating value from obsolete or unrequired equipment.
Create and implement maintenance procedures and schedules for all the systems under your control, which may be by keeping an organised maintenance log.
Experience in the meat / food and drink industries desirable.
Experience of mending and maintaining machinery to a high standard.
Experience of creating and working within PPMs.
Experience of compliance requirements in a manufacturing environment.
Budget management.
Engineering systems/commissioning experience.
Experience of contract management desirable.
BTEC Level 5 HND in Engineering or Certificate in General Manufacturing Engineering (City & Guilds 2850 Level 3).
City & Guilds Level 3 (2365) Electrical Installation desirable.
