We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join a well-respected local construction company. You will play a key role in delivering infrastructure and building projects across the Isle of Man. This position offers the chance to work on a variety of projects-from foundations and drainage to full structural builds-where your expertise will help shape lasting developments for the island. Key Responsibilities: Design, plan, and oversee civil engineering aspects of construction projects (roads, drainage, foundations, retaining walls, structural elements). Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with engineering specifications. Provide technical guidance and problem-solving when unexpected ground or site conditions arise. Prepare, review, and modify technical drawings and calculations. Liaise with contractors, planners, architects, surveyors, and local authorities. Ensure compliance with building regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements. Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality assurance. Produce clear technical reports, risk assessments, and documentation. Skills & Experience: Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification). Chartered or working towards chartered status (ICE or equivalent) is desirable. Proven experience in civil engineering, ideally with exposure to construction projects. Strong knowledge of local building regulations, planning, and health & safety requirements. Proficient in engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with contractors and stakeholders.
