We’re looking for a motivated and approachable Medicines Counter Assistant to join our fast-paced community pharmacy in Onchan. This is a full-time role, including Saturday morning shifts on a rota basis, where you’ll be at the heart of a busy, focused, and experienced team of 10 — all working together to deliver timely, high-quality pharmacy services to our patients.
Whether you’re helping someone choose the right over-the-counter treatment, supporting prescription collections, or keeping the pharmacy floor well-stocked and organised, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring every patient gets the care and attention they need. No two days are the same — and you’ll be constantly learning, especially as you build your knowledge of pharmacy services, medicines, and common health conditions.
You’ll either already have experience in a retail or healthcare setting, or have a strong interest in learning how to recommend pharmacy products and services safely and appropriately. Confidence, good judgment, and a genuine desire to help people are key to success in this role. You’ll also need to be able to stay calm under pressure, work efficiently as part of a team, and handle patient queries with empathy and professionalism.
As part of the role, you’ll complete a formal Medicines Counter Assistant training course, which is fully funded by the pharmacy. You’ll be supported every step of the way as you gain the knowledge and certification required to work in a regulated pharmacy environment.
