Trainee Advocate

A small but very busy legal practice based in the south of the Island is seeking a Trainee Advocate to join its friendly and professional team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is looking to begin or continue their legal career within a supportive environment that offers exposure to a wide range of legal work.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with the firm’s partners and experienced advocates, gaining hands-on experience across multiple areas of law including (but not limited to):
Conveyancing and property law.
Family and matrimonial matters.
Civil and commercial litigation.
Wills, probate, and estate administration.

You will be involved in client meetings, case preparation, legal research, drafting documents, and assisting with court work as appropriate. The role provides a clear pathway toward qualification as a Manx Advocate.

About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
Educated to degree level (ideally in law or a related discipline).
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
Able to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and colleagues.
Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Keen to build a long-term career in advocacy within the Isle of Man.

Previous legal or administrative experience is desirable but not essential — full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
