Shuttleworth Botanic Garden, Isle of Man.
Landscape Construction Supervisor. Permanent - Full time.
The Shuttleworth Botanic Garden was identified as a special place for a new landscape project where designs and collaborations have been developing since 2011. This year will see an increase in the construction of key landscape features involving earth moving, levelling, service provision and setting foundations in preparation for creating ornamental landscapes including large natural rock installations, water features, paths and tracks. These special places will provide the settings to curate the SBG Living Collection for research and recreation.
A Landscape Construction Supervisor is now needed to assist in the construction of SBG’s hard landscape features. Working with SBG staff, designers, contractors and suppliers you will have opportunities to demonstrate your abilities and experience in site supervision, construction and health and safety. As well as competence in understanding design plans, attending to administration and liaising with all other relative parties you are expected to be hands on accepting responsibility leading to the successful completion of hard landscape features.
This position requires someone who wants to be involved in both overseeing projects and physically participating in building these special assets. Leading by example you will demonstrate problem solving skills, determination and attention to detail and quality. The role requires someone who is capable of proactively supervising each project, recording and reporting on key elements and adjusting schedules and designs as instructed.
The successful candidate should be qualified in a relative subject to HND level with a minimum of 5 years professional experience demonstrating achievement. A driving licence is needed to perform all required duties. This role will allow the right person to create valuable landscape features and to work with a multi-disciplinary team.
A generous salary, relocation package, company insurance, option to join the company pension scheme and other benefits are offered.
