Our client seeks a Senior Manager - Life Insurance to join their team. The Role: In conjunction with the Head of Prudential Supervision lead the supervision of the life insurance sector, encompassing both prudential and conduct supervision. The role also involves external stakeholder engagement, being a strong contributor to the strategic direction of the Authority, and the maintenance and future development of the Island's life insurance regulatory framework in line with international standards Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop the life insurance supervision team, ensuring effective resource utilisation and delivery of supervisory objectivesDevelop, oversee, and deliver comprehensive supervisory plans by insurer and thematic focus areasFoster and maintain productive working relationships with the life insurance industry and key stakeholdersContribute strategically to senior management team decisions and lead critical workstreams and projectsOversee delivery of supervisory methodology including inspections, thematic reviews, and business engagementReview and prepare supervisory risk assessments at firm and sector levelIdentify emerging risk trends and develop appropriate supervisory themes and responsesManage complex regulatory issues with insurers and guide resolution strategiesOversee assessment of authorisation and registration applications under relevant insurance legislationEnsure appropriate review of statutory returns and regulatory submissionsLead on-site inspections from planning through to report completionDevelop and maintain relationships with industry, government departments, and international regulatorsHandle public enquiries and complaints in a professional and efficient mannerPrepare and present reports on regulatory matters and emerging issuesDevelop and maintain robust systems, procedures, and controls for the supervision teamSupport external assessments and regulatory reviewsChampion positive cultural change and performance management across the organisation Skills & Experience RequiredEssentialExtensive experience in life insurance regulation, supervision, or related financial services areasProven track record in team leadership and management with demonstrable people development skillsStrong understanding of prudential and conduct regulatory frameworksExperience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management at senior levelsExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsAbility to contribute strategically to senior management decisionsExperience in managing complex regulatory projects and workstreamsKnowledge of international regulatory standards and best practicesDesirableProfessional...
