The Isle of Man Government is seeking to appoint two members to the Minimum Wage Committee - one Employer Representative and one Employee Representative.
The Isle of Man Minimum Wage Committee is an independent statutory body established under the Minimum Wage Act 2001, to provide advice on the setting of the Island’s Minimum Wage. Committee Members must consider a range of economic and social factors, including the impact on workers, businesses and employment to make recommendations on appropriate wage rates for the Isle of Man.
The Department welcomes applications from individuals with a broad range of experience and backgrounds. Candidates should have:
The ability to analyse complex information to support balanced, evidence-based decisions
Strong communication skills with the confidence to contribute constructively in a committee setting
Relevant experience or insight - workforce and employee issues (Employee Representative) or business leadership and employer challenges (Employer Representative)
Ability to represent the interests of employees or employers (as appropriate), reflecting broader stakeholder perspectives across the Isle of Man
Sound judgement, integrity and commitment to the role, including attending meetings and contributing to the work of the Committee
There are two available roles - the Employer Representative must appear to the Department to be representative of employers, and the Employee Representative must appear to the Department to be representative of employees.
