Cable Team Craft Attendant

Provide a quality service to our customers.

Achieve agreed objectives effectively within specified timescales.

Ensure health, safety and wellbeing is a priority in all that you do.

Prepare, clean and make available tools, equipment and materials as required by the Craftsman.

Drive any vehicle up to 3,500kg, maintain and clean them. Also carry out roadworthiness checks and report defects.

Transport personnel, materials, appliances and plant, and assist in preparation for use.

Load and unload the vehicle of tools and equipment.

Assist other network services staff in carrying out duties.

Carry out routine duties within competence, for example cleaning and grounds maintenance.

Install cables and associated racking, cleating and clamping where required at our sites.

Install cut-out and metering equipment (dead work only).

Erect and install pre-formed scaffolding.

Prepare sites ready for work and tidy / clear site when work completed.

Prepare electrical cables for jointing activities.

Assist in the completion of necessary paperwork.

Operate communications and data transmission equipment.

Operate and maintain tools, equipment and PPE in accordance with training and instruction provided.

Maintain vehicle strategic stock levels and maintain a good standard of housekeeping of work areas.

Assess risks and take necessary precautions prior to setting self and/or others to work.

Adhere to all relevant procedures, instructions, standards and guidance.

Liaise with customers, suppliers and third parties.

Assist in out of hours work when required.

The ability to work at height.

First Aid training.

Installation and inspection of shoring of deep excavation.

The ability to set out signing, lighting and guarding in the Public Highway according to current legislation.

Any other delegated tasks within the post holder’s capabilities.
