Working within Homefire, an opportunity has arisen for a flexible Yard Operative/Depot Administrator to join our Isle of Man Depot.

The main purpose of this role is the day to day management of the Depot Goods Yard and associated plant, Delivery vehicle loading and driving, and Depot stock. To ensure the safe receipt, storage and management of all depot stock including weekly product checks, rotation of stock and preparation of stock for stock taking as required. To ensure the safe operation of the depot traffic management system and compliance by all staff and visitors to depot Health and Safety procedures. You will also be expected to undertake administrative duties, handle customer enquiries and deputise for the Manager in their absence.

The successful candidate will preferably have:

Counterbalance FLT licence.

Experience of basic mechanical plant safety checks.

Experience of stock management and vehicle loading procedures.

Good numeracy skills.

Good IT literacy.

Good customer facing and customer service skills.

Excellent housekeeping awareness and attention to detail.

Must be a “team player” with the ability to work well under pressure and able to follow instructions.

Previous experience in a transport or Goods Yard environment.

Strong communication skills.
