This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills, a keen interest in Finance & Systems, and a proactive approach to improving processes and supporting change in an organisation where we care about each other, our customers and our community.

In this role, you will support the delivery of business-as-usual activity across Finance, help maintain system integrity, manage finance system processes and user access, and contribute to finance and Group-wide projects. You will work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve queries, support systems administration, and identify opportunities to improve the way Finance operates.

The main duties for the role holder will include:
Provide day-to-day support to the Finance function, including user access, chart of accounts updates and general finance system queries.
Take a lead role in the administration of the Group purchase order system, including system set-up, authorisation hierarchies and process improvements.
Support the bespoke Finance Data Hub solution and help ensure finance data remains accurate, accessible and well controlled.
Contribute to finance-specific and Group-wide projects, including requirements gathering, development, testing and implementation activity.
Review existing finance processes and systems, making recommendations that improve efficiency, control and user experience.
Support the implementation and upgrade of accounting systems, controls and procedures.
Assist with the reconciliation of system control accounts, analysing results, liaising with stakeholders and supporting corrective action where needed.

To ensure that this role is carried out to the desired level, the successful candidate will need the following skills and experience:
Experience using or administering finance systems, accounting packages or financial reconciliation systems.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret and work with large volumes of data.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Good organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of databases, SQL Server Management Studio, the policy lifecycle, or experience in Life and Pensions or Financial Services would be advantageous.
A relevant professional qualification such as AAT, ACCA or equivalent, or a willingness to continue developing relevant finance and systems knowledge.
