To develop accurate cost estimates for the manufacture of complex machined or treated components, to drive performance improvement and support bids, for new and existing programmes and customers.
Key Accountabilities:
Preparation of detailed cost estimates for the manufacture of machined and/or treated products to support the acquisition of new business and commercial activities on existing business.
Identification of all raw material and bought-out requirements from detail drawings to obtain quotations for price and lead time.
Liaise with the Engineering team to prepare robust and efficient methods of manufacture as a basis for completing cost estimates.
Identification of all Non-Recurring Costs (NRCs) associated with the manufacture and engineering development of components being estimated.
To support in the submission of RFQs in line with agreed timescales, including RFQ review meetings, through preparation and maintenance of trackers showing progress towards target submission dates.
Gatekeeper for upkeep of estimate logs and Customer quotations, engaging with the customer as and when appropriate.
Build customer relationships through regular engagement.
Follow up of quotations with the customer to encourage Order Placement.
Manage Purchase Orders from the Customer - reviewing as they are received to ensure details are correct (as part of the wider Contract Review process).
