Essential

1. 4 GCSEs Grade A-C (including Maths and English) or equivalent
2. Certificate in Cremator Proficiency
3. Knowledge and understanding of Bereavement service industry or similar front-line sensitive service area
4. Experience and working evidence of being extremely accurate in recording information and producing handwritten material in a neat and legible manner
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide a high quality sensitive and professional service to all users of the Bereavement Service
6. Ability to complete a range of facilities management operations, including cleaning of chapels, public areas, grounds maintenance, safety and security functions
7. Ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team
8. Physically capable of undertaking duties of the post including handling and manoeuvring of coffins
9. Awareness of Health & Safety Regulations
10. Computer skills
11. A full clean valid driving licence


Desirable

1. Administration/Customer service qualification to NVQ Level 3 or similar
2. Previous experience in in bereavement industry
3. Be prepared to study ICCM Charter for the Bereaved
4. An understanding of the operations and functions of a local authority
