New Mains Construction Supervisor

Act as the Construction Supervisor, providing scrutiny of the Contractor’s compliance with the Scope, including regular site inspections, witnessing of tests and inspections, and ensuring materials and workmanship meet the required standards.

Lead the commissioning of new water mains and services: coordinate safe connections to the live network in liaison with the Water Networks Operations Team, supervise all testing, disinfection, and pressure testing, and ensure full compliance with water hygiene regulations and Manx Utilities’ specifications.

Identify, notify, and manage defects proactively; issue instructions to search for defects where required; and track correction periods.

Monitor progress against the Accepted Programme, attend progress meetings, and maintain detailed site records, photographs, and diaries to support contract administration and compensation event processes.

Contribute to water mains projects from feasibility, through design review, through to final commissioning, always placing safety, water quality, and environmental protection at the forefront.

Ensure a consistently high standard of quality control across highway works, health and safety, welfare, flood risk, and environmental legislation, including CDM Regulations.

Compile clear, concise reports for the Programme Board and/or Project Team on progress, quality, defects, and risks.

Undertake effective stakeholder communication at all levels, including liaison with landowners, businesses, and the public to keep them informed of project plans and progress.

Maintain accurate records and information systems relating to the works, including use of OpenWINGS GIS and project documentation.

Promote a proactive defect management and continuous improvement culture, ensuring all site testing and commissioning is completed as specified.
