Mechanical Technician

Responsible for delivering a high quality, safe and reliable mechanical service across water assets and mobile plant. The postholder will carry out maintenance, installation, refurbishment and repair of a wide range of mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, pressure systems and chemical dosing equipment, in line with operating manuals and safety requirements. You will attend mechanical breakdowns, investigate and report faults, carry out risk assessments, support condition monitoring activities, and ensure accurate records are maintained using Front Line job tickets. The role also involves supporting stock control, ordering spares, liaising with suppliers, and deputising for the Mechanical Engineering Manager when required.
We are looking for a time served mechanical craftsman or qualified mechanical technician with strong mechanical engineering knowledge and experience, ideally within a water or water treatment process environment. You will be a collaborative team player, able to fault find in challenging situations, remain calm under pressure, and respond effectively to emergency scenarios. A solid understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation is essential, along with a commitment to governance, wellbeing and performance standards.
