Community Support Worker

The Community Support Worker is responsible for providing high-quality person-centred care and support to service users in their own homes. This role involves assisting service users with personal care, daily living activities, and promoting their independence and well-being. The Community Support Worker will work closely with service users, their families, and other care professionals to deliver personalised care services.

Key Responsibilities:
To assist service users with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing and continence care. Support with mobility, including the use of aids and adaptations as required. Ensure that service users’ dignity and privacy are always maintained during personal care activities. Administer medication to service users according to their care plans and in line with company policies and procedures. Assist service users with meal preparation and hydration, ensuring that dietary needs are met.

You may be asked to help service users with light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping, as needed. Accompany service users to appointments, social activities, and other outings to promote their social well-being. Encourage service users to engage in activities that promote their physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Foster a supportive environment that enables service users to achieve their goals and maintain their independence. Provide emotional support and companionship to service users. Observe and report any changes in service users’ physical or mental health to the Care Coordinator or Care Manager. Facilitate clear and effective communication between care staff, service users, and other professionals.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including daily logs and incident reports. Ensure that any concerns regarding service users’ safety or well-being are promptly communicated and documented. Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge. Stay up to date with best practices in domiciliary care and any relevant legislative changes.

Additional Requirements:
Satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday mornings and alternate weekends.
