Paramedic

Applicants must hold current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Paramedic, with post-registration experience in an emergency or pre-hospital setting.

Experience in a healthcare, emergency care or event medical setting is essential, along with the ability to care for patients safely within your scope of practice, good communication and teamwork skills, accurate record keeping, and a sound understanding of infection control, safeguarding and confidentiality. You must be able to stay calm under pressure and be willing to work flexibly including evenings, weekends and events.

As a Paramedic you will at times be the most senior clinician with our patients, and it is essential to be confident making autonomous clinical decisions within your scope of practice, able to lead the crew and manage a scene, and be accountable for your own practice, including record keeping and clinical governance. You will have access to senior clinicians for advice and escalation when needed.

Satisfactory enhanced disclosure and barring checks are essential and will be required as a condition of employment. Existing right to work on the Isle of Man is desirable, but applicants who do not hold it may still apply, as the company can apply for a work permit where required.

For Clinical Educators, A teaching qualification such as AET is essential, along with experience delivering training.
An Emergency Response Driving Qualification is desirable for example the Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving.
A full driving licence and a C1 driving licence (or willingness to undertake this) are also desirable.
