The Employment Incentive Scheme is designed to help Isle of Man businesses attract skilled workers - whether from off-Island, recent graduates, or Manx talent returning home. By offering financial support for eligible hires, the scheme encourages workforce expansion, strengthens local industries, and promotes sustainable economic growth across the Island.

Features & Benefits
Permanent Roles
- 25% grant (up to £10,000) towards the first-year net salary of a relocating employee
- Eligible hires include off-Island workers, recent on-Island graduates, and returning Manx graduates
- Minimum salary requirement: £25,000
- Grant paid one year in arrears
Seasonal & Temporary Roles
- Flat-rate grant of £1,000 per qualifying employee
- Paid in two instalments of £500
- Available for off-Island workers or Manx students studying off-Island
- Applies to eligible sectors and qualifying roles

- Supports both new and existing roles
- Includes back-filled positions (if not previously supported under the scheme)

Key Conditions
For Businesses
- Must have a permanent establishment on the Isle of Man
- Must be eligible under the Enterprise Act 2008 (Eligible Businesses) Regulations 2018
- Must be up-to-date with Income Tax, VAT, and National Insurance
- Must advertise the role locally before recruiting off-Island
- Must be expanding its workforce
- Applications must be submitted before the appointment
For Jobs
- Minimum starting salary of £25,000 (or pro-rated equivalent)
- Full-time roles only (minimum 30 hours/week)
- Permanent roles must be advertised on-Island for at least two weeks (unless exempt)
For Employees
- Must be directly employed by the business
- Must work primarily on the Isle of Man
- Must become resident on the Island for income tax purposes (unless a Manx graduate)
